Complex renewal of substations
The open-air supporting structures of the substations, built thirty-forty years ago (especially the ferroconcrete portals and apparatus-foundations), get strongly damaged by the erosion-effects of the weather. The present condition of certain important substations are such that they could even endanger even the safety of the national - and main distribution grid !
The Construction Division of Ovit ZRt. developed several technologies for the renewal of aging substations. These technologies have proven to be reliable. Ovit ZRt., for example, took part in the reparation works of a medium-scale damaged ferroconcrete structure of the 400/120 kV substation at Litér.
The Department for Design and Technology of Power Lines developed an innovative technology to exchange ferroconcrete structures for steel structures which offer a long-term solution. This technology is continuously being applied now in the reconstruction work of other substations.
Ovit ZRt. takes part in the renewal of aging substations, considerably extending their viable lifetime.
