Accomplishment of the reconstruction of Göd 400/220/120/18 kV substation

During the past years important primary and secondary reconstructions were carried out at the substations of transmission network. The reconstructions of the 50-year-old Göd substation stood out from these considering the technical extension as well as the complication of the work.

During the past years important primary and secondary reconstructions were carried out at the substations of transmission network. The reconstructions of the 50-year-old Göd substation stood out from these considering the technical extension as well as the complication of the work. The execution started with replacement of the old reinforced concrete portals and the exchange of the wire bus bars for tube bus bars. Beside these tasks the 400 kV secondary reconstruction started with the construction of the field-oriented relay houses and also with the pre-mounting and placing of the protective and direction technical systems in them. During the cut-off of the 400/120/18 kV transformers we had to complete the reconstructions at all kind of voltage level so we were working at the same time on the 18 kV switching building, on the 120 kV transformer field and on the whole 400 kV field line. After the demolishing of the old 220 kV switching equipment and the portals, we set about the mounting of the replaced 220/120610,5 kV transformer and its fields. At the final stage of the execution, the reconstruction of the 120 kV fields, the placement of the air core shunt chokes for all transformers and the upgrading of the firewater system were carried out, and setup procedure of the diesel generator was completed. As a result of the above listed works the distant controlling of the substation from Albertirsa distant control center becomes possible.
The representatives of the companies taken share in the operation, designing, execution, engineer office activity and the manufacturers of the equipment attended at the official ceremony of the commissioning taken place on 12 November 2008.
In his speech Mr. Gábor Tari, managing director of MAVIR ZRt. (Hungarian Transmission System Operator Company) gave thanks to all of the participants for the success of the project and he emphasized the fact that there was neither breakdown nor personal accident during the process of the reconstruction. Following that Dr. Károly Sánta, the director of the Division of Technical Services of ELMÜ-ÉMÁSZ (main electricity supplier company of Budapest) appreciated that the supplying of the 500 000 customers during the process of the reconstruction of Göd substation, which has an important role in supplying Budapest and its territory, was continuous.
On the occasion of the commissioning of the substation Mr. Zoltán Neukum, our technical director received memorial medal from the managing director of MAVIR ZRt. for his completed work of a high level in the reconstruction of Göd 400/220/120 kV substation.
