Having recognised that quality is one of the definitive strategic factor for meeting market requirements and for ensuring further successes for OVIT, in 1994 OVIT issued a Quality Policy Declaration to demonstrate its commitment in that field. In 1996 it was the first of large corporations to pass a certification audit in order to prove that its system of operation is consistent with the provisions of the ISO 9001 standard. After committed further development of the Company’s quality management system, the operation of its Environmental Management System (EMS) developing in an integrated fashion with the ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System (QMS) was certified compliant with the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard in 2002. In 2004, the Company was the first one in the electricity industry to extend the integrated system with the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS 18001).
The QMS, the EMS and the OHSAS form an integrated management system (IS), which consistently passes the TÜV supervisory and also customer audits. The commitment of the senior management and the employees of OVIT to quality is also demonstrated by the fact that its Chemical and Thermovision Laboratory has been certified consistent with the requirements of the MSZ ISO/IEC 71025 standard and accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAT). During the continuous development of the IS, compliance with the requirements of the nuclear energy industry was first certified by the auditors of Paksi Atomerőmű Zrt. (Paks Nuclear Power Plant) and the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority in November 1998. In line with the market requirements of Paks Nuclear Power Plant, OVIT extended its professional capabilities by meeting the requirements of ABOS 1, 2, 3 and 4, with some necessary limitations.
As the general operation of OVIT, its integrated management system is also adapting continuously to the challenges of the market, to technological development and the requirements of the stakeholders. Some examples:
- OVIT is a certified supplier of power transmission network towers for the electricity company E.ON.
- OVIT has integrated the operation of the electrical systems of the MOL Danube Refinery into its own organisation, the IS and is working continuously on improving its operating conditions.
- In order to meet the requirements of the power station market, OVIT has established and integrated the Maintenance Division into its organisation and system of operation.
The Company operates as a specialist in electrical systems throughout the country and has been continuously developing its integrated system in a committed manner.
- Through operating the QMS, OVIT is providing perpetual proof that it is rightly considered one of the definitive specialist companies in the electricity industry, furthermore
- through operating the EMS it devotes attention on a par with quality to the environment, which is unavoidable affected by its activities, and
- through operating the OHSAS, it also protects the bodily integrity and health of its employees and those affected by their work,
while working to meet the requirements of stakeholders to their satisfaction.
OVIT expects its cooperating partners to display the same level of commitment.
