OVIT ZRt.’s Transportation Department has been engaged in heavy transport activities since its establishment several decades ago. Initially, these were aimed almost exclusively at domestic transports for industries (transformers, transformer accessories, shunt chokes, power station generators, turbines). Since these pieces of industrial equipment were made not only in Hungary, soon, the Transportation Department has entered the international transport arena as well. Making no claim for completeness, it has delivered already in the extended business range the equipment from Russia for the 750 kV substation built in Albertirsa, as well as the generators for Dunamenti Power Plant, and the large equipment for Paks Nuclear Power Plant.
A considerable amount of the transportation business line’s invoiced operations is linked by now with customer acquisition on the free market, and a minor portion of them includes the Company’s own transports for its stakeholders.
The assets of the Transportation Department have been tailored primarily to the complete service of industry level tasks. Their modernization and procurement of facilities meeting changed demands and possibilities (narrower substation areas, larger volumes, more sophisticated lifting technologies) constitute an ongoing process.
The Transportation Department performs in addition to its core business also material handling, and tasks that require considerable (organizational, material and physical) resources. Through its contacts the Transportation Department can provide complex service from sea port up to the installation on base for its clients.
