The self-supporting optical cables are glass fibre wires, which can be mounted on the power line towers, for data transmission. The great advantage of these glass fibre cables ( in contrast to metal conductor cables) is that signal transmission is not influenced by electrical, or magnetic disturbances.
Ovit ZRt. has great experience in building open-air electrical power lines and takes a significant role in establishing the optical signal transmitting network in Hungary.
Ovit ZRt.' s Construction Division, with its special machinery and instrument resources and applying its own innovative technology, performs the mounting of optical signal transmission cables (type OPGW cables, integrated in the protective conductors, as well as type ADSS, metal-free, self-supporting cables) on new or operating power lines for full-scale operation.
